2005 – The Sky

She loves to gaze at the sky almost every day because the different colors and different shapes of clouds have always astonished her. In this work, she tried to capture the mesmerizing beauty of the sky and place it at the bottom of a cylinder. Turning the reality of the world upside down to form a mystical mirage by displacing objects to where they’d least belong, she aimed to liberate the audience from the cage of the routine reality of a monotonous life. It could be amusing, to say the least, to look at the sky through water – and not under it, while you can breathe! Also, it is noteworthy to mention that this project is her first experience in photography.

The cylinder’s height is one meter and its diameter is 90 cm. Photo print, 1000 liters of water, and color lighting are the three main elements used in this project.
